Key qualifications and experience for the Investment Consultant

  • A minimum of 4 years' relevant experience in investment consulting or related financial services roles
  • BCom Investments (Honours or Masters) / Maths/Economics or BSc (Honours) Stats/Maths i
  • RE examinations along with adherence to fit-and-proper requirements of an FSP

Key duties for the Investment Consultant

  • Work closely with senior consultants and investment teams to deliver tailored solutions for a range of institutional clients, ensuring high-quality service and timely execution of strategies.
  • Oversee the implementation of investment strategies for both umbrella and standalone funds, collaborating with the broader investment team to ensure seamless execution.
  • Draft and review client Investment Policy Statements annually, aligning them with best practice standards and organisational philosophy.
  • Design bespoke investment strategies for clients based on established processes and philosophies, ensuring alignment with their objectives.
  • Prepare comprehensive investment reports in collaboration with the reporting team, guaranteeing timely delivery ahead of client meetings.
  • Coordinate manager reviews and strategy assessments using robust research methodologies and proprietary tools, working closely with the research team.
  • Develop engaging client presentations and participate in meetings to provide insightful feedback on economic trends, performance metrics, and strategic recommendations.
  • Deliver consistently high levels of client service by responding promptly to ad hoc data requests and analytical queries within specified turnaround times.
  • Implement member analytics and projection statement services at each client site to enhance transparency and decision-making capabilities.
  • Manage contractual obligations, income tracking, invoicing processes, compliance requirements (including FICA), and ensure all client records are accurately maintained.
