Key Responsibilities:
- Medical Surveillance & Health Monitoring: Manage and administer a comprehensive occupational health surveillance programme to support employees' physical, psychological, and social well-being. Monitor health status through ongoing programmes, maintain medical records, ensure completion of risk-based medicals (e.g., audiometry, spirometry, vision screening, biological monitoring), and oversee injury on duty, emergency procedures, and return-to-work processes.
- Administration & Compliance: Provide and manage primary health care and chronic disease management for the facility. Plan and coordinate wellness activities, assess disability and return-to-work cases, and ensure compliance with statutory requirements and company policies. Manage expenditure and budgets, control clinic inventory, compile reports and statistics, support employee travel immunization, maintain hazardous waste management, and provide feedback to the Health and Wellbeing Manager and Regional SHE Manager.
- Health & Safety Support: Attend health and safety meetings, ensure data capturing and manual record-keeping, adhere to the Duty of Care Policy, and promote safety and wellness initiatives within the organization.
- Inspection & Risk Management: Conduct inspections of canteen, ablutions, and work environments. Oversee first aid box inspections and replenish stock as needed to ensure workplace health and safety standards are maintained.
- Safety First: Demonstrate 100% commitment to our zero harm behaviors in support of our drive towards developing a world class safety culture.
- Qualifications: Grade 12, Diploma in General Nursing, Occupational Health Nursing, Audiometry, Spirometry, Vision Screening, Dispensing.
- Registrations: Registered with South African Nursing Council as Professional Nurse and Occupational Health Nursing Practitioner, and with SASOHN as Audiometrist.
- 5 years of experience in Occupational Health Clinic, including employee assistance and disability case management.
- Sound knowledge of statutory legislation, RMA experience.
- Provide professional indemnity proof (SASOHN).
