Our bursary programme provides financial assistance to students who are already enrolled in university and are passionate about pursuing a career in Actuarial Science. It enables them to focus on their studies without the burden of financial stress related to tuition and academic expenses

Role Purpose As a succesful recipient of our Actuarial Science Bursary Programme, you will recieve the following:
  • Annual registration and tuition fees
  • Textbook, general and data allowance
  • Accommodation and meal allowance (where applicable)
  • Travel allowance (where applicable)
  • Mentorship, vacation work and networking opportunities


Requirements
  • South African Citizen
  • Currently enrolled in any of the following qualifications at an accredited South African university:
    • BSc Actuarial Science
    • BBus Science Actuarial Science
    • BCom Actuarial Science
    • BSc Actuarial and Financial Mathematics

  • Successful completion of first-year actuarial studies
  • A minimum grade point average (GPA) of 70% or higher
  • Not be a recipient of any other bursary funding for the academic year that funding is applied for

  • Certified copy of your matric certificate
  • Copy of your most recent academic transcripts (for all years of study)


Duties & Responsibilities As a succesful recipient of our Actuarial Science Bursary Programme, you will be required to achieve and submit the following:
  • Any documentation requested to be provided within 5 working days of request.
  • Complete the qualification in the time allocated by the University as per agreed timelines at the time the bursary was allocated.
  • Pass all subjects in any given academic year.
  • Meet the course entry requirements for the next academic year of the Actuarial degree.
  • Provide Momentum Group with copies of academic results/records for each semester within 5 working days of receipt from university.
  • Provide Momentum Group with copies of the tuition costs, accommodation and meal fees/expenses as well as proof of any other Bursary related expenses.
  • Graduate with a minimum of 4 Exemptions by the end of the Actuarial degree.
  • Be committed to contribute positively to the Actuarial Profession and to join Momentum Group upon graduation.
