Job Title: Technical Writer Location: Centurion or Cape Town, South Africa (Hybrid) Employment Type: Full-time
The job The Technical Writer will be responsible for creating, editing, and maintaining a wide range of documentation. The ideal candidate will have excellent writing skills, attention to detail, and the ability to translate complex technical information into clear and concise documentation
Key responsibilities
  • Create and update technical documentation, Did you Knows, User Guides, Technotes and Help Articles for our software products
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams, such as product managers, and subject matter experts, to gather information and ensure the accuracy of the documentation
  • Translate complex technical concepts into clear and user-friendly content
  • Conduct thorough research and analysis to gather information and validate technical details
  • Edit and proofread documentation for clarity, consistency, and adherence to style guidelines
  • Ensure documentation is up-to-date, accurate, and meets the needs of the target audience
  • Maintain a documentation repository and version control system for easy access and retrieval of documentation
  • Continuously improve documentation processes, tools, and templates to enhance efficiency and quality
  • Stay up to date with industry trends and best practices in technical writing

Essential requirements
  • Qualification in Technical Communication, English, Construction Management, Quantity Surveying qualification, Computer Science, or a related field
  • Proven experience as a technical writer, preferably in the construction software industry
  • Proficiency in using documentation tools
  • Ability to quickly grasp technical concepts and learn new technologies
  • Estimating/quantity surveying/cost control experience will be an advantage
Desired skills
  • Strong writing and editing skills, with the ability to convey complex technical information clearly and concisely
  • Excellent attention to detail and ability to deliver high-quality work within deadlines
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams
