Duties & Responsibilities

  • Oversee and maintain hygiene standards in the kitchen – Q PRO-specific
  • Implement new innovative and creative ideas (on meals and functions)
  • Ensure that all dishes are prepared to the correct recipe and the correct quantity.
  • Ensure that all dishes reach the hot plate correctly garnished in the correct portion and size, presented on the prescribed serving dish in the prescribed manner
  • Oversee and monitor the quality of food and presentation thereof
  • Manage & train staff
  • Quality & quantity controls on all food products.
  • Keeping updated on market trends and reacting to these effectively and efficiently
  • Responsible for food budgets and to achieve their requirements
  • Ability to produce a high volume of work on time that is accurate, complete, and of a high quality
  • Guarantee that all communications between service areas and the kitchen run smoothly

Qualifications

  • Diploma in Professional Cookery/ Relevant qualification
  • A minimum of 2 years of Professional culinary skills or experience within a similar environment will be essential.
  • Excellent customer service skills
  • Ala’Carte as well as banqueting experience
  • Computer literate
