To ensure accurate cost estimations for production and tendering purposes by applying cost accounting principles alongside a strong technical understanding of production processes. The role includes validating Bills of Materials (BOMs), ensuring data accuracy within Teamcenter, and maintaining alignment with systems to support effective pricing, planning, and profitability analysis
Key Responsibilities:
- Interpret technical drawings, routings, and material specifications to prepare accurate cost estimates.
- Review and validate Bills of Materials (BOMs) and routings for completeness, accuracy, and cost integrity.
- Ensure the accuracy, consistency, and completeness of product and costing data within Teamcenter, including structures, part numbers, revisions, and metadata.
- Liaise with Engineering, Production, Planning, and Procurement to obtain up-to-date costing and technical information.
- Apply cost accounting principles to analyse, compile, and update standard and actual costs for manufactured items.
- Identify and correct data inconsistencies or omissions in Teamcenter that could affect downstream costing or production processes.
- Support Engineering Change Requests (ECRs) and New Product Introductions (NPIs) by evaluating cost implications and ensuring updates are correctly reflected in Teamcenter.
- Assist in the preparation of detailed quotations, tenders, and customer proposals.
- Reconcile variances between estimated and actual costs; investigate root causes and implement corrective actions.
- Contribute to costing audits, continuous improvement initiatives, and cost optimisation reviews.
Minimum Requirements:
- Technical qualification in Mechanical/Industrial Engineering or equivalent is advantageous(compulsory).
- .National Diploma or Degree in Cost and Management Accounting
- 3–5 years’ experience in a manufacturing or engineering environment, preferably with exposure to heavy equipment, mining, or fabrication.
- Strong working knowledge of Teamcenter product lifecycle management system.
- Proficiency in Syspro and Microsoft Excel.
- Understanding of BOM structures, routings, costing elements, and technical manufacturing processes.

- Analytical mindset with the ability to perform cost breakdowns and variance analyses.
- Effective communication and interpersonal skills for cross-functional collaboration.

- Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines.
