Job Description

NOV South Africa is hiring a Business Data Analyst for our Rig Engineering Data Management (REDM) team. REDM is a global department dedicated to providing centralized management of parts and documenta ti on, suppor ti ng engineers and aftermarket users with fast, accurate data and efficient processes. As a Business Data Analyst, you will play a key role in structuring, quality-assuring, and maintaining technical data for standard parts and components (electrical, hydraulic, and mechanical). Your work will help secure accurate and reliable informa ti on in our systems—cri ti cal for effec ti ve workflows and high quality across the organiza ti on. Your analy ti cal skills and service mindset will enable you to turn insights into valuable enhancements for our processes and systems.

Responsibili ti es

  • Process, analyze, and follow up on data requests using internal tools and support systems, ensuring deadlines and requirements are met.
  • Create, modify, register, classify, and update technical standard parts in our product database (ERP & PLM), focusing on quality, accuracy, and ti meliness.
  • Read and verify technical documenta ti on (drawings, datasheets, cer ti ficates).
  • Update and validate product informa ti on across internal systems, ensuring strong data integra ti on and compliance with guidelines.
  • Perform data analyses and contribute to improving data quality, work rou ti nes, and documenta ti on within agreed ti meframes.
  • Collaborate closely with engineers and other departments to ensure efficient processes, smooth data flow, and knowledge sharing.

Qualifica ti ons

  • Bachelor’s degree or voca ti onal school degree in engineering, IT, or another technical/industrial field.
  • Experience with data analysis, data management, or within the industrial sector is an advantage
  • Good understanding of industrial components (hydraulics, mechanics, electrics, etc.).
  • Familiarity with reading and interpre ti ng technical documenta ti on.
  • Experience with product databases, ERP, and PLM systems, as well as proficiency in Microsoft 365 (Outlook, Teams, OneDrive, SharePoint, advanced Excel).
  • Analy ti cal, structured, and detail-oriented, with the ability to manage mul ti ple tasks.
  • Strong communica ti on skills in English (Norwegian is an advantage).
  • Ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
  • Experience in customer support is beneficial.
