A Quality Specialist in Civil and Earthworks focuses on ensuring that all construction projects adhere to quality standards, specifications, and industry best practices, particularly for earthworks and related civil infrastructure in accordance with Hatch’s policy.

Key Responsibilities

  • To produce accurate design documents that will ensure successful project execution.
  • Implement and maintain quality control procedures and systems throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Conduct regular inspections and testing of materials, equipment, and workmanship to ensure compliance with project specifications and quality standards.
  • Identify, document, and address non-conformances or deviations from quality standards, ensuring corrective actions are taken.
  • Maintain accurate records of inspections, tests, and quality control activities.
  • Provide training and guidance to construction teams on quality standards and procedures.
  • Ensure that all construction activities comply with project specifications and relevant industry standards.
  • Work closely with project managers, engineers, and other stakeholders to ensure quality goals are achieved.
  • Oversee the daily operations on the construction site to ensure work is progressing as per the schedule and adhering to safety and quality standards.
  • Broad knowledge of the EPCM model of project delivery including the activities, interfaces and interdependencies of all project disciplines (engineering, procurement, construction management and other project related disciplines)

Preferred

  • A degree or diploma in Civil Engineering or a related field is required.
  • Relevant experience in civil construction, particularly in earthworks and related areas, is essential.
  • Strong knowledge of quality management principles, construction standards, and relevant regulations.
  • Proficiency in using quality control tools, software, and equipment.
  • Ability to identify and resolve quality issues effectively.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to work effectively with a diverse team.
  • Strong leadership and problem-solving skills.
  • Detail-oriented with strong analytical skills.
  • Quality control and inspection experience with respect to fabrication and construction
  • Knowledge of engineering, procurement, document control, change management, project controls, safety, environmental, industrial relations, construction, resource and risk management
  • Quality assurance experience with respect to project compliance and adherence to procedures and policies
  • EPCM exposure.
