Key responsibilities include budget management, compliance with safety and quality standards, customer relationship management, effective people management, and logistical support. You'll manage coal loading, reconcile stock levels, ensure efficient operations, and uphold safety practices. Minimum Requirements

  • B Tech in Logistics (Essential/Minimum)
  • Certificate in First Line Management (Recommended/Desirable)
  • 3-5 years of experience in stakeholder operations, logistics planning, and supply chain management
  • Proficiency in managing flow management and control
  • Experience with budget preparation and cost control
  • Knowledge of compliance, safety, and quality management standards
  • Ability to establish and maintain sound business relationships with service providers
  • Proven skills in effective people management and team optimization
  • Experience in managing coal loading and reconciliation of stock levels
  • Strong adherence to health, safety, and environmental regulations

Duties & Responsibilities

  • Ensure optimized logistics processes between clients, Transnet, and the business unit to enhance efficiency and service delivery.
  • Oversee budget preparation, cost control, and financial forecasting to ensure alignment with departmental financial strategies.
  • Maintain compliance with all relevant safety and quality standards, ensuring product integrity and adherence to statutory and company regulations.
  • Foster strong relationships with stakeholders including service providers and internal departments to support business objectives.
  • Lead, manage, and develop a motivated and high-performing logistics team through effective people management practices.
  • Plan and coordinate coal dispatches and rail activities, ensuring effective communication with Transnet and other service providers.
  • Manage operations related to coal loading, off-loading, and stock reconciliation while ensuring accuracy and security in operations.
  • Promote a safe and healthy work environment by adhering to safety practices and addressing potential hazards promptly.
  • Drive continuous improvement and cost reduction initiatives within the logistics function to support business growth and innovation.
