Your Purpose...

  • To support the transactional function of procuring goods and services in the business by ensuring the optimal combination of price, service, lead times and quality is readily available to meet the business requirements.
Your Duties and Responsibilities...


Identify the Need

  • Liaise with the Requestor (NHO/Club) to understand the requirement. This will include lead time, specification, price, discounts, payment terms and service/ support requirements.

Negotiate with Suppliers

  • Approach the market to ensure the best offer is available to meet the need.
  • Compare offers, rigorously challenge and negotiate with the supplier to ensure the best possible offer is available to meet the need.
  • Notify the successful supplier and proceed in placing the order for direct procurement or loading the item and price against the selected supplier on the AX catalogue for decentralized procurement.

Supplier Management

  • Build relationships with suppliers and reduce risk by managing their performance.
  • Ensure price increases are communicated timeously with back up supporting documentation and updated on the AX system once approved.
  • Work with the Procurement Category Manager and ensure repetitive spends are covered by contract.
  • Remain abreast of new technologies and innovations and continuously communicate these learnings to the Procurement Category Managers.

Administration Management

  • Work closely and assist the Procurement Category Managers in achieving the departmental saving targets for their category.
  • Timeously respond to end user queries to ensure requirements are readily available to support the day to day running of the business.
  • Carefully monitor stock levels of items purchased centrally in bulk and distributed to clubs. Notify stakeholders when stock levels are low and need to be replenished.
  • Ensure communication of information crucial for the fulfillment of the service is sent timeously to the supplier.
  • Regularly check and confirm prescribed payment terms and conditions agreed upon in the negotiation phase with the supplier are applied.
  • Ensure the procurement policy is adhered to and communicate any defaults to the Procurement Category Manager.

  • Matric qualification
  • 2-3 years’ experience within a procurement and purchasing administration role
  • Strong administration skills
