Role Headline
Acquires and learns practical knowledge and working experience in different administrative fields of expertise, in the course of an academic education. The pay role intern supports the payroll department by ensuring accurate payroll processing and recording, providing timely and accurate financial information, and participating in data entry and reconciliation. The successful incumbent may also assist with employee record management, statutory compliance, and administrative duties.

The successful incumbent may also assist with employee record management, statutory compliance, and administrative duties.
Responsibilities of the Role
- May assist in the processing of payroll specific transactions, such as time sheets , direct deposit actions, commission, pension and / or benefit and bonus processing and allowance payments. Inputting payroll data, verifying information, and assisting with payroll processing using relevant software/systems
- Responds to routine inquiries from employees.
- Maintaining employee records, organizing files, and managing employee data
- Provide general administrative support to the payroll department, such as organising records, answering inquiries, and preparing reports?.
- Gain experience and know how in payroll processes, accounting, and HR-related functions
- Involvement in adhoc projects and assist the team in administrative
- Relevant Qualification or equivalent in Payroll
- Min 1.2 years relevant End to End Payroll experience
- Experience in PaySpace (Advantageous)
- Prior experience in Workday (Advantageous)
- Excel Skills (Advanced) Essential
- Knowledge of the relevant BCEA /MEIBC and Tax Legislations (Essential)
- Knowledge of payroll reconciliation (Essential)
- Valid Drivers Licence with own vehicle
- Strong analytical skills with high attention to detail
- Ability to work under pressure and in an environment with tight deadlines
- Must have excellent time management skills
- Critical thinker with innovative problem-solving abilities
- Excellent communication skills (Both Written and Verbal)
- Ability to work within a team
- Interpersonal skills
