Career Indaba, Africa’s pioneering career development, labour market, and employment solutions platform, is seeking visionary and purpose-driven individuals to serve as Directors and Board Members to help lead its next chapter of impact and growth. we are establishing a high-impact Board to strengthen governance, sharpen strategic focus, and deepen cross-sector collaboration. As a Board Member or Director, you will play a central role in advancing the National Skills Development Plan, the National Development Plan 2030, and the UN Sustainable Development Goals (SDG 8: Decent Work and Economic Growth).
We Are Looking For
6x Board Members and 2x Directors who bring:
- Proven leadership in education, business, entrepreneurship, technology, labour, policy, or youth development
- A strong commitment to economic inclusion, skills development, and employment equity
- Strategic thinking, sound governance experience, and networks that align with our mission
- A passion for driving Africa’s skills agenda and future workforce
Key Roles and Responsibilities
- Provide strategic direction and oversight for Career Indaba's growth and governance
- Champion the mission and vision of Career Indaba across sectors and networks
- Contribute to resource mobilisation, stakeholder engagement, and public accountability
- Advise on policy, innovation, and partnerships to drive national workforce outcomes
- Attend quarterly board meetings and support key initiatives as needed
2x Executive Directors (Operational Leadership – Full-time Roles)
- Part of the Executive Team alongside the CEO.
- Focused on day-to-day leadership, execution, operations, fundraising, content delivery, and stakeholder engagement.
- Actively manage teams, budgets, partnerships, programmes, and the implementation of Career Indaba’s strategy.
Positions:
- Director: Strategic Partnerships & Business Development
- Director: Programmes, Content & Impact
Board Members (Governance & Strategic Oversight – Non-Executive Roles)
- Provide strategic direction, fiduciary oversight, and policy guidance.
- Serve on the Board of Directors as non-executive, part-time volunteers for a defined term (e.g., 3 years).
- Do not manage daily operations but play an advisory, governance, and oversight role.
- Appointed to ensure alignment with the organisation's mission, compliance, and stakeholder trust.

Ideal Candidate:
- Business development executive, corporate partnerships leader, or philanthropic strategist
- Strong networks in public, private, and donor communities
- Excellent negotiation, storytelling, and engagement abilities
- Together with the CEO, these two directors will lead Career Indaba into its next phase of growth and national impact, anchoring its brand as Africa’s most trusted voice on employment, skills, and the future of work.
