Purpose of the Position
Project Managers have end-to-end full accountability to deliver business objectives through the efficient execution of capital projects, ensuring compliance with Corteva values related to safety, environment protection, ethics, innovation and collaboration.

Candidates must have:
Candidates must be willing to relocate to one of our manufacturing locations in South Africa and keep regular site attendance.
Travel requirements: 50% of time, within South Africa and Zambia.
Candidates must fulfill legal employment requirements of the chosen country, including residence and work permits, and have no legal travel restrictions to the other locations.

Purpose of the Position
Project Managers have end-to-end full accountability to deliver business objectives through the efficient execution of capital projects, ensuring compliance with Corteva values related to safety, environment protection, ethics, innovation and collaboration.
Key Responsibilities
Business case / Front-end Loading (FEL) development
- Helps functional teams writing project charters with clear business objectives and requirements.
- Leads the development of alternatives that meet business needs, combining our internal seed processing knowledge, project management expertise, and market technologies.
- Develops early budgets and timelines to support capital planning process.
- Staffs project teams effectively, ensuring roles and responsibilities are clearly understood, workload is reasonable, communication is good, and conflicts are managed.
- Leads project teams to execute the FEL deliverables, ensuring data completeness and quality.
- Communicates with stakeholders to grant formal project authorization.
- Collaborates with internal customers and project team to develop design, engaging outside consultants and contractors, as needed.
- Ensures design meets project objectives and execution strategy, and that a robust quality assurance process is in place to approve the deliverables.
- Ensures smooth design information transfer to vendors and construction team.
- Ensures Corteva procurement practices are in place.
- Ensures procurement plans are approved by Procurement team.
- Engages functional teams to approve technical and commercial offers.
- Engages functional teams to review and approve contracts, when required.
- Ensures purchase orders are issued timely and with all required information.
- Ensures effective expediting and contract management.
- Manages invoices approval and processing.
- Acts as the champion of safety.
- Ensures contractors are understand and meet safety and quality requirements.
- Ensures contractors understand and align with the project execution strategy.
- Ensures site teams are aligned with construction and safety plans.
- Ensures owner’s teams are properly staffed to supervise and approve field execution.
- Ensures all required permits are in place for the execution of the projects.
- Manages scope, schedule, budget, cash-flow, risks, changes, and execution.
- Communicates with stakeholders and delivers consistent, and effective project reports.
- Delivers assets that are safe to operate and maintain.
- Ensures team members are properly recognized for their contributions.
- Supports capital accounting process, complying with internal policies and procedures.
- Partners with business finance to evaluate and report investment return, as required.
Candidates must have:
- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Civil, Electrical, Automation or Agriculture Engineering.
- 3+ years of experience managing industrial projects, design, or construction.
- Demonstrated ability to lead teams, manage partners, and influence stakeholders.
- Solid interpersonal relationship skills, with good written and oral communication.
- Strong owner’s mindset.
- Willingness to work irregular hours, when required.
- Highest standards of conduct and respect for others.
- Project Management master’s degree / specialization / broadly recognized certification.
- Previous experience with seed/grain/food processing or bulk material handling projects.
