Credit Risk & Trade Finance Manager
Department : Finance & Business Control (BP64020)

The Credit and Trade Finance Manager is responsible for managing and assessing credit risks, overseeing trade finance operations, ensuring compliance with internal and regulatory standards, and supporting business development by facilitating smooth credit and trade transactions. This role is key in optimizing working capital, mitigating financial risks, and supporting international and domestic trade.

Responsibilities And Duties
Credit Management
Establishing credit limits for importers/buyers according to credit framework
Ensuring credit limits are sufficiently backed by security/collaterals
Maintenance/Update of Credit Policy to reflect any market news
Review and prepare credit support for the Credit Committee's approval.
Credit Limits Monitoring
Mark to Market Sales Forecast against Actual shipment to ensure Sales Forecast are in line with credit expectation.
Raise deviation requests to Credit Committee
Ensure Limits are catered for every shipment
Ensure that business adhere to the credit monitoring process
Ensure expiry of the credit limits are in place to ensure no disruption to shipment scheduled
In the event of non-payment, notification to insurance company and adhere to the claim process to recover any monies
Yearly credit review on existing client
Trade Finance
Letter of Credits
Liaise with Operation/Assembly plants with regards to Purchase Orders requirement so as to ensure a workable LC is issued by the applicant’s bank.
Liaise with counterparties to ensure a workable Letter of Credit is issued timely
Ensure banks limits, confirmation and discounting are in placed with the negotiating banks. This includes securing favourable rates the banks for confirmation and discounting.
Ensure submission of compliance shipping documents to banks. Any discrepancies to be rectified prior to negotiation by banks (This include LC amendments, operations team who are responsible for the shipping documents)
Monitoring of credit limits for clients with credit insurance
Ensuring limits are within the tolerance and seek appropriate approvals if needed.
If the event of non-payment, notification to insurance company and adhere to the claim process to recover any monies
Payment and Receivables
Ensure all due receivables are received on time
Notification to credit committee in the event if there are non-payments

Minimum Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or related field (MBA or professional certifications CFA / CPA, ICC Certification in Trade Finance advantageous).
- 5–10 years of experience in credit risk and trade finance roles.
- Experience in banking, financial institutions, or large trading/manufacturing companies.
