Job Advert Summary

A member of the PPS Life Insurance Operational Finance team reporting to the Operational Finance Team Manager. This role will be responsible for the end-to-end commission process for external Brokers and including but not limited to Commission Payments and analysis, queries, and reconciliations. This role will assist within the larger commissions area, when required.

This role will also be responsible for member credit control process.

Minimum Requirements

Education:

  • Com Accountancy degree or similiar

Experience:

  • 2-3+ years’ experience within a financial services environment, preferably in the Insurance Industry advantage
  • Strong reconciliation experience is required.
  • Experience in the use of Microsoft Office applications (Word and Excel etc)
  • Proficient in MS Office - Advanced Excel

Knowledge and Skills:

  • General knowledge of insurance legislation/rules advantage
  • Exposure in dealing with members, brokers and advisors advantage.
  • IT Skill: Strong computer skills, including Microsoft Office Package at a moderate level.
  • Strong sense of commitment to the organization’s goals and values.
  • Accounting and financial principles.

Duties and Responsibilities

Operational Process Commissions

  • Resolve all commission queries.
  • Process all weekly, monthly, and interim commissions payment.
  • Submit all bank files to the larger FSPs.
  • Review commission calculations on the system and on quotations.
  • Prepare correction Test Harness for manual adjustments of commission.
  • Manage the 1st run credit control process.
  • Manage all commission related Input files and make sure the files are run successfully.

Financial, reconciliations and reporting

  • Ensure that all bank files are balancing back to IAA.
  • Ensure that all FSP statements are balancing back to IAA.
  • Prepare monthly commission recon for the commission accounts.
  • Reconciling all payments for all commission types.
  • Ensure policies are lapsed and cancelled on IAA where the credit control process requires it.
  • Implement Rule 15A on lapse members.

Stakeholder management

  • Provide support to the broader Life Operations business units.
  • Establish, maintain, and build relationships with key stakeholders.
  • Liaison function with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Assist with year-end requirements and audit queries.

Additional Accountabilities

  • Respond to queries and investigations within agreed SLAs.
  • Adherence to process controls and service levels agreements.
  • Performing other duties assigned from time to time by the team manager.

Risk, Compliance and Governance

  • Ensures compliance of all Operational Finance processes to the defined Security, Risk and Governance frameworks of PPS.
  • Maintain and continuously improve policies, standards, and procedures to ensure regulatory compliance and risk management from an Operational Finance perspective.
