Evolution PR requires a junior public relations account manager to manage a mix of technology, HR and industry accounts. The candidate should have 2 years Public Relations agency experience as an Account Executive. The candidate m ust possess a firm grasp of the English language, be able to write (opinion pieces and press releases), ideally have an understanding of technology and 'hold their own' when dealing with C-level executive clients. Candidate must have their own transport.
Duties include:
Manage a portfolio of clients’ PR accounts and meet the monthly activity targets per account.
Building relationships with clients.
Building relationships with key media contacts. Must be equipped with an existing strong media network.
Liaising with clients regarding press campaigns, creative projects and PR solutions.
Dealing with the media, speaking to journalists and other members of the press regularly.
Briefing clients and updating them on press campaigns.
Analysing PR coverage and providing written reports.
Communicating effectively with a range of stakeholders.
To develop angles on each account. To tie in with current affairs, trends and newsjacking.
Write a minimum of one piece of content to be distributed to media per month. Could be a press release, Q&A, opinion piece/article. for submission to media.
Write social media posts.
Chair PR meetings.
Ensure reports and clippings are prepared/updated.
Co-ordinate appointments/meetings for all clients.
To oversee the clippings manager.
Research radio and TV programmes for potential client interviews.
Track feature opportunities .
Obtain timeous approvals on content from clients.
Send approved content to press.
Pitch and schedule media interviews.
Brief client for media interviews.
Compile and prepare annual PR reviews for clients.
Develop social media posts for clients.
Report to the Account Director.
Requirements
Must have three years PR agency experience.
Strong copywriting skills.
A strong grasp of the English language (spoken and written).
Must have a flair for technology and good understanding of general technology and business topics.
Must be completely au fait with MS Office (excel, word, PPT, graphs, reports etc.).
Strategic thinking skills, and the ability to conceptualise ‘next steps’.
High levels of professional communication - both presentation, verbal and written skills
Well-spoken and presentable.
A passion for the media, including social media.
Flair for creativity, strategic thinking and innovation.
Good industry knowledge and experience in building influential media networks.
Outstanding organisational skills with an ability to manage multiple projects and portfolios.
Service focused and sensitive to confidential information.
Ability to work under pressure and within tight deadlines
Must be a team player with a good attitude and friendly personality.
