Job purpose:
The IT Manager will oversee and coordinate the IT operations across a Kena Goup, each with varying levels of digital maturity and business needs. The role is both strategic and hands-on, ensuring reliable IT support, robust cybersecurity, and alignment of technology resources with group-wide business objectives.
Key responsibilities
1. IT Operations oversight
Standardize and manage IT systems and infrastructure across Kena Group.
Implement efficient workflows for device management, software usage, and IT support across the group.
2. Cybersecurity and Data Protection
Implement and maintain cybersecurity standards and group-wide protocols.
Ensure compliance with applicable data protection regulations (POPIA, GDPR, etc.).
Manage data privacy, secure backups, and recovery plans.
3. Vendor and Asset Management
Manage contracts with ISPs, hardware/software vendors, and outsourced IT providers.
Maintain asset registers, license renewals, and optimize IT procurement across entities.
4. Technology Support and Training
Provide direct or coordinated support for daily IT issues.
Onboard new staff and maintain user access control policies.
Train staff on digital tools, systems security, and best practices.
5. Group Tech Alignment
Develop and oversee IT strategies aligned with each company's operations.
Support implementation of productivity tools, finance software, CRM, or ERP systems.
Collaborate with business managers to ensure tech meets operational demands.
6. Project Management and Innovation
Identify digital transformation opportunities across the group.
Lead implementation of shared platforms (e.g., cloud storage, communication tools).
Ensure consistency in system usage and encourage automation where possible.
REQUIREMENTS
Key Skills and Competencies:
Strong understanding of IT infrastructure, networking, and support services
Hands-on problem-solving abilities with a proactive approach
Clear communicator with ability to manage stakeholders at all levels
Time management and ability to prioritize requests from multiple entities
Experience in small business environments and resource-limited IT settings
Security-conscious with a strong understanding of regulatory obligations
Qualifications and Experience:
Bachelor’s degree or diploma in Information Technology, Computer Science, or equivalent
5+ years in an IT management or generalist IT role
Experience managing IT across multiple departments or companies is advantageous
Certifications such as CompTIA, Microsoft, Cisco, or ITIL are beneficial
Strong working knowledge of cloud platforms, office productivity suites, and endpoint security tools
