Duties & Responsibilities

The LRU Assembler is responsible for the accurate and high-quality assembly of electronic printed circuit boards (PCBs) into mechanical enclosures used in aerospace Line Replaceable Units (LRUs).

  • Assemble electronic PCBs into mechanical housings following work instructions and engineering drawings
  • Perform mechanical integration including fastening, torqueing, and alignment of subassemblies
  • Apply ESD-safe handling practices and comply with cleanroom protocols
  • Use hand tools, torque tools, and microscopes to ensure accurate assembly
  • Record assembly steps and traceability information in production logs
  • Conduct in-process inspections and report defects or anomalies
  • Collaborate with engineering on build issues and improvement suggestions
  • Maintain a clean and organized work area
  • Assist with training of new assemblers as needed

Desired Experience & Qualification

  • Matric or equivalent; technical certificate or diploma in electronics or mechanical assembly preferred
  • 2-3 years in electronics or aerospace mechanical assembly
  • PCB and mechanical assembly practices
  • ESD handling and cleanroom protocols
  • Reading mechanical and electrical assembly drawings
