What does a NOC Net Admin I do?

As a Full-Time NOC Net Admin I at Wisper ISP, you will play a critical role in diagnosing, troubleshooting, and resolving network-related issues while monitoring and servicing network equipment. Your expertise will help ensure optimal network performance by assessing availability, utilization, throughput, goodput, and latency, identifying weaknesses, and addressing escalated concerns from the Customer Experience and Support Teams. You will collaborate closely with the Engineering team to provide essential specifications for network architecture and emerging technologies, performing needs assessments to enhance our services.

Maintaining accurate trouble ticket records and participating in a scheduled after-hours/weekend on-call rotation are integral to this position. Working alongside your peers and under the guidance of the NOC Manager, you will ensure adherence to established processes and continuously drive solutions to enhance our network performance, ultimately delivering a superior customer experience.

Requirements For This NOC Net Admin I Job

To excel as a Full-Time NOC Net Admin I at Wisper ISP, a solid foundation in networking and troubleshooting is essential. Candidates should possess a high school diploma or equivalent, accompanied by at least 2 years of hands-on experience in networking, routing, and switching. Familiarity with best practices for managing, controlling, and monitoring network infrastructure is crucial, as well as 2 years of experience in implementing, maintaining, and troubleshooting firewalls, VPNs, WAN, and LAN infrastructure. A basic understanding of network principles, including OSPF, subnetting, static routes, DHCP, and PPPoE, will be vital for success in this role.

Strong problem-solving abilities, attention to detail, and effective communication skills are also necessary to collaborate with peers and escalate issues effectively, ensuring a seamless network performance and top-notch customer experience.
