Coordination of the development and maintenance of the medicine and surgical supplies formulary.

Participation in price review meetings and price negotiations with suppliers.

Development / design and maintenance of a credible pharmaceutical supplier database.

Development of Standard Operating Procedures to guide the pharmaceutical centralised procurement process as well as inventory management processes.

Staff training on implementation of and adherence to Standard Operating Procedures.

Oversight and Improvement of Internal and external Material Replenishment Planning (MRP)

Development of management reports in pharmaceutical procurement and inventory management for strategic reviews and decision making.

Analysis of the pharmaceutical compliance report

Approval of the ordering of required essential medicines and surgical supplies.

Review of existing agreements with suppliers.

Controlling of spend and building of a culture of long-term saving on procurement costs.

Pharm degree.

Current Registration with the South African Pharmacy Council as a Pharmacist.

7 years’ experience as a pharmacist of which three (3) years must be in pharmaceutical procurement.

A broad experience in pharmaceutical systems (Dispensing systems, procurement systems and inventory management systems.

Understanding of Project Management, Supply Chain Management, Forecasting and Demand Planning.

Ability to engage Suppliers for price negotiations.

Data collection and analysis / Trend analysis.
