Job Description

To lead and manage a team of underwriters, implementing the Company’s underwriting guidelines, protocols, policies, principles, and controls, and ensure consistent adherence thereof.

To oversee the life underwriting function and process, ensuring accurate risk assessment and compliance with regulatory standards.

Are You Someone Who Can

  • Assess the medical, financial and occupational underwriting risk of the organization
  • Create business practice guidelines and review of underwriting philosophies and standards
  • Provide Onboarding Training, mentoring and coaching of junior and intermediate underwriters
  • Provide Training and support for advisory and call center teams
  • Conduct periodic quality assurance reviews for in-force policies, as well as limit reviews for underwriters.
  • Assess complex and commercial cases
  • Create, implement, review, testing and maintenance of: Medical underwriting rules and questions
  • Relationship management with re-insurance treaty partners
  • Implement Re-insurer guidelines and requirements.
  • Review and ratification of underwriting business processes to the executive team and product development input
  • Provide retrospective underwriting decisions at claims stage

You Will Be An Ideal Candidate If You Have

  • Minimal of 5 years senior underwriting experience
  • Medical underwriting experience
  • Re-insurance experience would be sufficient
