Our client, a leader in the private healthcare industry, is urgently looking for a Registered Nurse (RN) / Professional Nurse (PN) with work experience in Infection Prevention and Control (IPC). This is an opportunity to work a 3 month contract at a private hospital in Cape Town.

Working hours will be Mon to Friday from 06:30 to 15:30 approximately.

Minimum Requirements

  • Registered with SANC as a Registered Nurse
  • Available immediately
  • Preferably own transport
  • 3 - 5 years working in a hospital environment as a professional healthcare practitioner
  • 1 - 2 years IPC related work, supervision of a small team
  • Nursing qualification (degree or diploma)
  • Formal IPC course / Post Graduate diploma in IPC (will serve as an advantage)

Duties and Responsibilities

  • MAIN PURPOSE OF THE JOB : To ensure the implementation and maintenance of a functional Infection Prevention and Control (IPC) programme at hospital level

    KEY RESPONSIBILITY AREAS

    • Identify, mitigate and manage risks related to Infection Prevention and Control
    • Investigate, analyse and interpret clinical data and act upon findings
    • Manage and oversee IPC audits and ensure compliance with Statutory and Regulatory requirements
    • Identify training needs in the hospital and provide input in the development of training material
    • Provide support with patient safety and quality improvement initiatives in the absence of the Patient Safety Manager)
    • Manage key stakeholder relations
