As the QHSE Manager at Hitachi Rail South Africa, you will lead the charge in aligning our Quality, Health, Safety & Environmental systems with both South African regulations and international ISO standards, while integrating seamlessly into Hitachi’s global HSE community.
What your responsibilities will be?
- Develop and enforce HSE and Security strategies, policies, and procedures.
- Oversee internal and external audits; ensure legal and ISO compliance.
- Lead Quality Management Systems and certifications (ISO 9001, 14001, 45001).
- Manage HSE performance reporting, audits, and incident tracking via KPIs.
- Guide procurement strategy with alignment to BBBEE and Hitachi policies.
- Coordinate stakeholder engagement and cross-functional HSE integration.
- Degree in a relevant field; MBA preferred.
- Accredited by recognized HSE professional bodies.
- 5+ years in QHSE and Procurement leadership roles.
- Advanced MS Office and project management proficiency.
- Strong leadership, strategic thinking, and decision-making.
- Excellent communication, negotiation, and problem-solving abilities.
- Proven stakeholder and risk management track record.
