What are we looking for?

We are seeking an ambitious and talented Graduate Intern. This is a fixed term 12-month contract. The Graduate Intern will be expected to assist experienced chemists with laboratory tasks, gaining practical experience, and learning analytical techniques. Candidate must have completed their qualification.

The key responsibilities:

• Produce accurate and reliable data by following methods and standard operating procedures.
• Sample preparation and analysis using the following techniques / instrumentation: weighing, pH, density, viscosity, particle size determination, titration, spectrophotometry, electrical conductivity, moisture determination, and ashing.
• Good organizational and record keeping skills.
• Maintain housekeeping in laboratories, storage areas and offices.
• Daily monitoring of temperatures.
• Changing of gas cylinders.
• Any other duties as given by senior laboratory personnel to support timeous completion of KPIs.

If you possess…

Must-Have:

• Grade 12/Matric.
• National Diploma in Analytical Chemistry.
• Must have completed the qualification.
• Adherence to Health and Safety procedures.
• Sound theoretical knowledge of analytical chemistry.
• Good communication skills (written and verbal) with report writing and document reviewing skills.
• Must be able to work within a multicultural team.
• Ability to maintain self-control and work efficiently in a fast-paced work environment.
• Maintain equipment and perform verification procedures.
• Effective time management skills.
• Adherence to the laboratory's Quality Management System.
