Main Purpose of the role
This is a multi-dimensional role with several Quality and Risk focus areas including risk process and integration, risk management, process compliance, basic data analysis as well as monitoring.
Technical Risk Management:
- Strong foundational knowledge of Deloitte's ethical, independence, quality, risk management, and professional standards and processes and the ability to impact that knowledge to business aswell as the internal team.
- Strong understanding of the different service and product offerings in the Advisory business, and their inherent risks, independence & conflict constraints, and take-on process requirements
- Supports the advisory business in the day-to-day compliance with processes through training, consultative engagement and dashboarding - ensuring effective execution of and compliance with risk & quality management processes in the business.
- On-going rollout of relevant training and providing hands-on assistance to practitioners.
- Good understanding with the Deloitte contract management practices
- Driving ad hoc risk & quality management initiatives in the business.
- Executes and reviews client and engagement and acceptance monitoring (CEAM) testing as aligned with the QIRR process.
- Classifying, evaluating, and monitoring risks, and implementing mitigations for the risks identified – both at a service line and engagement/product level.
- Understands the importance of effective team management; takes lead to plan and manage delivery testing and CEAM reviews of non-complex and complex files with excellence; and delivers on files in alignment with stakeholder expectations.
- Provide clear and concise reports to the team lead, highlighting progress, challenges, and key metrics.
- Exhibits exceptional communication skills, skilled at navigating difficult conversations, and delivers high impact on stakeholders.
- Assist in guiding junior team members, fostering a collaborative and supportive work environment.
- Good understanding of the IESBA Independence and Conflicts policies for engagements and business relationships and supports Business with the related execution.
- Strong knowledge of IEASBA independence requirements to assess permissible versus impermissible services in the Advisory Business.
- Guidance on ethical dilemmas and compliance matters, ensuring adherence to the IEASBA Code .
- Stays abreast of changes and updates to IEASBA standards, ensuring advisory practices remain current and compliant
- Ability to consult on complex matters.
- Understands data preparation and quality review efforts with teams, involving experts when required
- Understands data gathering process by breaking down complex data gathering process into milestones and troubleshooting challenges for teams
- Mobilizes tools/resources as required for data, e.g. strong understanding of excel and how to utilise the tool in managing data
- Proactively identifies new tools and innovative approaches for data design and visualization
- Supports the advisory business in the day-to-day compliance with processes through dashboarding of systems ensuring effective execution of and compliance with risk & quality management processes in the business
- Acts as an ambassador for change by managing uncertainty and ambiguity with teams, communicating key objectives and priorities to stakeholders, and addressing concerns
- Demonstrates ability to manage projects from initiation to closure, adhering to established methodologies and best practices
- Proactively identify and escalate potential issues to the lead, ensuring timely resolution and project continuity
- Ability to learn new technologies and apply knowledge
- Proven experience in roles that require strong consulting and project management experience
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to lead and facilitate cross-functional team discussions across various stakeholders
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced and dynamic environment, with a high degree of initiative and adaptability
- Skills in executive presentation development, strategic thinking and workshop development and delivery
- Experience leading project teams/workstreams
- Proficient in Microsoft Excel and Power Point
- Strong understanding of risk management and compliance
- Strong technical skills and problem-solving abilities
- Strong oral and written communication skills
- Ability to effectively manage time
- Maintain high levels of confidentiality
- Build and maintains good relationships with current team members and other relevant staff members firm wide
- Post Graduate Diploma or bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience
- Chartered Accountant or similar professional membership (Preferred)
