Junior CAD Operator

GIBB’s Roads and Highways Services Delivery Unit provides a comprehensive range of services that include traditional consulting services (design, procurement and contract supervision), Public Private Partnership (PPP) solutions and asset management services. This includes high capacity freeways, interchanges and bridges, airport pavements, rural roads (including low volume and haul roads) and municipal infrastructure. The team is supported by transportation and traffic engineers, geotechnical and material engineers, and other specialists.

This Sector is looking for another talented professional to complement their team, in the form of a Junior CAD Operator.

Core Purpose

The core purpose of the Junior CAD Operator is to provide assistance with preparing clear and technically accurate drawings, using Computer Aided Design (CAD) Software.

Key Performance Areas (KPIs)

• Assist with drawings for relating to Road design and related drawings.
• Assist with keeping a drawing register with all relevant drawings for record keeping.
• Learn and assist with maintaining the drawing standards of the Transportation Team.
• Uses computer-aided design (CAD) software to assist with drawings.
• Assist with maintaining an organised file system for production drawings.
• Assist with converting existing drawings to PDF or other formats required.
• Adhere to all administrative, technical and quality procedures of the company.

Job Requirements:

Qualifications:

• Grade 12 (Matric).
• AutoCAD certificate.

Experience:

• 1 to 5 years’ experience.
• Ability to operate latest AutoCAD software.

Person Requirements

• Skills in AutoCAD.
• Skilled PC usage and associated software including Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Access and PowerPoint).
• Willingness to learn.
• Teamwork ability.
• Ability to follow instructions.
