Maintenance Assistant

Are you a hands-on individual with a passion for fixing things and keeping operations running smoothly? We are looking for a Maintenance Assistant to join our team and support the Maintenance Manager in ensuring the upkeep and reliability of our manufacturing plant and associated facilities.
Duties & Responsibilities

Assist in performing regular inspections of facilities to identify issues or necessary repairs.

Carry out basic maintenance tasks such as replacing light fixtures, fixing leaks, and minor carpentry.

Support maintenance of mechanical, electrical, and plumbing systems under the guidance of the Maintenance Manager.

Assist with preventative maintenance activities as per the maintenance schedule.

Help monitor and manage inventory of tools, equipment, and supplies.
-
Provide support to external contractors during on-site repairs or installations.

Assist in ensuring all equipment and tools are maintained in safe working condition.

Conduct general upkeep duties such as cleaning, painting, and shopfitting touch-ups as required.

Accompany the Maintenance Manager on monthly store inspections and provide on-site assistance.

Respond to maintenance requests and emergencies as directed.

Adhere to all health and safety regulations and company standards.
Desired Experience & Qualification
-
Proven experience as a maintenance assistant or similar entry-level technical role (advantageous).

Basic knowledge of maintenance procedures, tools, and equipment.

Physically fit and capable of lifting heavy items, working at heights, and performing manual labour.

A willingness to learn and develop technical skills (electrical, plumbing, mechanical).

Ability to work independently with minimal supervision and as part of a team.

Good communication and interpersonal skills.

High school diploma or equivalent; technical certification or vocational training is an advantage.

Valid driver’s license and willingness to travel to different store locations in Gauteng.
