General Assistant (Engineering)

Responsibilities:

Repair and Maintenance Tickets

• Respond to allocated Tickets logged with the Stores Controller
• Check availability of material to complete the assigned job and request products to be purchased if required.
• Assist with the collection of products if requested
• Complete assigned tasks whilst adhering to safety requirements
• Send before and after pictures of completed repairs to the Stores Controller to confirm the quality of work completed

Routine Repair and Maintenance Checks

• Complete routine checks and identify the need for ongoing repairs and maintenance
• Provide feedback to the Stores Controller
• Identify repairs and maintenance to be attended to by Electrical or Mechanical Departments

Hygiene, Housekeeping and Occupational Health and Safety

• Adherence to Occupational Health and Safety (OHS) as well as Food Safety Standards (FSSC 22000)
• Identify health and safety hazards and implement corrective and preventative measures
• Report hazards or risks to Management
• Adhere to personal hygiene standards
• Keep the working area clean and tidy at all times.
• Keep working areas, tools and equipment clean and tidy
• Check that tools are in good working order and report any damages to the manager
• Safely store tools and equipment

• National Senior Certificate
• Valid Driver's License
• Knowledge of the different tools and machinery
• Knowledge of safe working procedures
