Assistant Teacher

An assistant teacher, also known as a teaching assistant, provides support to a lead teacher and students in a classroom setting. Their duties typically involve assisting with lesson planning, preparing materials, reinforcing instruction, managing classroom behavior, and supporting individual student needs. 

Classroom Support:

• Lesson Preparation: Helping with lesson planning, preparing materials, setting up the classroom, and organizing resources.   

Instructional Support: Reinforcing instruction through one-on-one or small group tutoring, reviewing lessons, and providing extra help to struggling students.    Classroom Management: Managing student behavior, enforcing rules, and maintaining a positive learning environment.    Record Keeping: Assisting with attendance, grading, and tracking student progress.    Student Support: Individualized Instruction: Providing extra help to students with special needs, learning challenges, or those who require additional support.    Supervision: Supervising students during breaks, lunch, recess, field trips, and other non-classroom activities.    Communication: Communicating with parents and other staff about student progress and needs.    Additional Responsibilities: Attending Meetings: Participating in staff meetings, training sessions, and conferences.    Classroom Maintenance: Keeping the classroom tidy and organized.    Supporting School Activities: Assisting with school events, extracurricular activities, and parent/teacher meetings.
