Job Description

  • This internship programme spans over a 12-month period and is a great opportunity for a young person who is motivated by self-development, together with commitment and drive towards learning.
  • To co-ordinate and support health, safety, and food safety within Premier Salt River Bakery to be responsible for planning, implementing, and overseeing company's employee safety at work. The main duty is to ensure that the company complies and adheres to Occupational Health and Safety (OHS) guidelines to reduce work-related injuries and ensure compliance with Food Safety standards

Qualification Requirements

  • Advanced Diploma in Occupational health & Safety
  • Advanced Diploma in Risk management/Safety management

  • Communication and teamwork
  • Innovation and continuous improvement
  • SHE Knowledge in Occupational Health, Safety, Environmental and Food Safety legislation.

  • Environmental course
  • Required to work a 6-day week & overtime as required

Key Outputs

  • Plan and implement SHEQ policies and programs
  • Advise and lead employees on various safety-related topics
  • Prepare educational seminars and webinars on a regular basis
  • Review existing policies and procedures
  • Adhere to all the rules and regulations
  • Work with HR to set up a new employee on-boarding process for safety
  • Conduct risk assessments
  • Enforce preventative measures
  • Identify process bottlenecks and offer timely solutions
  • Check if all the employees are acting in adherence with rules and regulations
  • Prepare and present reports on accidents and violations and determine causes
  • Oversee workplace repair, installations and any other work that could harm employees' safety
