Duties & Responsibilities
Perform Daily
- Check for alarm indications. Investigate and implement rectification plans as necessary and follow the escalation procedures as set out by SU Tygerberg
- Monitor critical features and ensure process and equipment are operating according to set parameters
- Check email correspondence every 5 minutes and refresh page to ensure email correspondence from
- Respond promptly on every email from SU Tygerberg or Customers within 5 minutes of email received after consulting Tsebo Technical Manager/ Foreman on correct wording.
- Transfer all hard copy information from plant inspections done by ground level Handymen and Technicians onto soft copy and save onto the control room PC.
- All calls logged from the customers directly to the BMS Operator PC and must be acted on promptly, the BMS Operator is required to call either the Tsebo Technical Manager or the Tsebo Senior Technician within 5 minutes of receipt of email with the case number in order for Tsebo to action the customer’s request.
Set up and execute the following ensuring they are performed over a 3 Monthly cycle
- Clean the VDU, printer and central processor using a cloth which is clean and free from loose fibres and metallic
- Ensure the central processor filters and cleaned & replaced as
- Ensure that there are 2 back-up copies of the current system database & that they are current
- Inspect & test the central processor batteries and ensure they are in working
- Interrupt the electrical power supplies to the central processor, reinstate and ensure the system restarts & operates
- Confirm that the system communications between the central processor and the main outstations is operating Initiate alarms within each outstation and confirmed that the response of the complete system to these alarms.
Set up and execute the following ensuring they are performed over an Annual Cycle
- Confirm that all valves/actuators stroke correctly between 0 and 100% and that plant stops & starts as
- Inspect the outstation batteries and check that they are in working
- Interrupt the electrical supplies to each outstation, reinstate and ensure the system restarts
- Ensure all analogue/digital inputs and outputs are reporting
- calibrate sensors and adjust as
- Ensure time programmes are functional and control loops are programmed
- Report the Committee decisions and distribute the Change Request number to the applicable technician/s, Follow up on outstanding/open Change reques
- Understand and interpret the requirements of the task for which a change is requested
- Ability to articulate the requirements and fill out the Change request on Service Now for presentation to the Change Request Committee
Customer Satisfaction
- Ensure high level of customer service is provided and maintained via formal communication, email
- Ensure that weekly documented audits/ inspections by quality controller are presented to Site manager for signature before filing
- Assist with minutes as required
- Action job cards and advise on outstanding job cards and ensure job cards are fully completed and signed off by the requestor.
- All calls to be logged with the help desk
- Provide general office assistance
Subcontractor Management
- Escort and oversee sub-contractors where necessary and ensure all works are carried out in accordance with OHS Act requirements
- Ensure all sub-contractors leave the area in a clean and tidy state when the work is completed and ensure the sub- contractors remove their rubbish and waste from site onc the work is completed
ISO 9001; 14001 & 18001 – Quality, Environmental and Health & Safety Standards
- Adhere to the TFS’s Safety, Health, Environmental andQuality (SHEQ) Management System’s Policies & Procedures of as applicable to this position.
Ad Hoc
- Any reasonable action requested by management.
Skills and Competencies
- Knowledge of equipment, materials and suppliers used in facilities
- Have a good knowledge of machine tools, general
- Excellent facility with common hand and power tools
- Familiarity with building layouts and infrastructures
- Hospitality and customer centric focus
- Time Management Skills
- Good knowledge of electrical fixtures, fittings, repairs and maintenance thereof
- Good knowledge of Mechanical fixtures, fittings, repairs and maintenance thereof
- Understand and follow oral and written instructions
- Ability to plan, organise and control own work effort
Qualifications
- Grade 12
- A Technical N3/4 Certification is a must
- Computer skills are essential
