To provide analysis of the financial results of the peer group banks as well as the analysis of peer strategies at a product level which is inclusive of analysis of asset management entities as well as insurance given the group strategic initiatives in these markets

Are you someone who can:
- Develop and maintain relationships with the FirstRand franchises, develop and maintain relationships within the FirstRand Corporate Centre, including Group Treasury, Group Finance and ERM
- Actively participate and influence industry discussions and developments relating to IFRS and financial reporting
- Analyse new markets the group will be entering, is to be conducted
- Produce market commentary on press releases / trading updates of the peer group banks which will include analysis of the impact of the announced actions of peers on the FSR market position
- Prepare an in-depth competitor analysis of the financial results of the peer group banks and other financial sector entities as well as the analysis of peer strategies at a product level. This includes an understanding on the domestic competition’s strategy, income drivers, returns, volatility, historical trends and expectations and forecasts
- Prepare analysis on other market information e.g. BA 900, NCA data, pillar III information
- Support additional performance measurement division work streams including risk return framework setting
- Support through analysis, franchise/segment differentiated targets and hurdles
- Support resource allocation and optimisation decisions made by FRM committee
- Coordinate risk return framework and risk appetite setting
- Collate and maintain all internal business analysis in the form of historical analysis, up-to-date time series as well as master presentation packs.
- Build HFM smart view files and processes for the rest of the business as required
- Provide support for FCC related projects that impact Performance measurement division
- Assist with other divisional processes as back up for team members when required

- A BCom Finance / Accounting (CA advantageous)
- Experience Research on topical matters impacting the team’s mandate
- The ability to culminate the analysis performed into reports and presentations available to internal committees including (but not limited to) the FSR Board, FRM committee, International EXCO and Franchise EXCO’s and forums
- Experience in the implementation of a robust database to ensure accessible information for analysis going forward
