Duties & Responsibilities

Planned Maintenance

• Undertake Planned Preventative Maintenance Tasks allocated by the Mechanical Services Team leader or Foreman, Management.
• Undertake Re-active Maintenance Tasks and repairs allocated by the Mechanical Services Team leader or Foreman, Management.
• Ensure that best operating practice is applied when undertaking maintenance tasks/ repairs.
• All maintenance tasks must be checked and signed off with the team leader to ensure that the work has been executed at the required standards.
• Provide a list of required materials to Mechanical services team leader or foreman to enable successful execution of maintenance tasks.
• Complete the planned preventative maintenance correctly i.e.,
• Name, date, time, spares used or drawn from stores for that particular asset.
• To submit the planned preventative maintenance DAILY to the mechanical services team leader / Foreman.
• Assist in keeping workshop and plant rooms always tidy and presentable.

Helpdesk Call Response

• Undertake reactive maintenance tasks allocated by helpdesk and mechanical team leader or foreman.
• Measurement of allocated tasks in terms of the response and restore times.
• Complete the job cards correctly ie, Name, date, time, spares used or drawn from stores for that particular asset.
• To submit the job cards daily to the mechanical services team leader
• To inform helpdesk to close call on completion
• House-keeping on completion of work

Quality, Health & Safety Compliance

• All tasks undertaken in accordance with applicable IMS;
• Quality, policies and procedures.
• Health and Safety policies and procedures.
• Review of non-compliances occurrences identified during:
• IMS quality, health and safety audits
• Safety inspections

Skills and Competencies

• Mechanical or relevant trade qualification
• Safety conscious
• Good knowledge air-conditioning units repairs and maintenance.
• Knowledge of tools and materials used in the assigned area of responsibility
• Understand and follow oral and written instructions.
• Ability to plan, organise and control own work efforts.
• Good Knowledge of the BMS system and DX controllers.
• Ability to repair and replace motors and bearings.
• Good communication and Peoples Skills.
• Excellent customer relation skills. Read, write & speak English

Qualifications

• Matric
• 2-3 years experience in similar environment
• Mechanical trade qualification
