Description

Provide Human Resource support to Operations.

Requirements

Relevant Human Resources Diploma/Degree.

Minimum 10 years HR generalist experience in Wholesale and Retail.

Proven ability to analyse and advise on HR related statistics

Proven management and leadership experience

Experience In Delivering And Administering Skills Programmes

Ability to handle pressure

Working knowledge of MS Office, (Word, Excel and Power point)

Own transport and valid drivers license

Ability to travel extensively (local)

Key Performance Area

Training and development

  • Conduct and maintain skills gap analysis exercises and develop individual development plans to ensure identified gaps with regards to competencies and technical skills are closed
  • Conduct management training interventions when required
  • Ensure an annual training plan for the Ops area is drafted and approved by the Ops Executive. This plan must address identified training requirements of management in the Ops area and be aligned to the Ops areas Employment Equity plan
  • Analyse E-Learning training reports and other training statistics. Share information with line management and advise on any action that may be required

Workforce planning and talent management

  • Conduct talent needs analysis based on required competencies for existing and future business needs. Aligned to company strategy / store development plan and advise line management of any action that may be required
  • Identify shortfall of talent based on company strategy / store development and advise line management of results and action plan to close any shortfalls identified
  • Identify required talent to meet company strategy
  • Identify individuals with required talent
  • Arrange competency psychometric assessments for identified individuals
  • provide personalised feedback on assessment results to line management and individual
  • develop career path plan and manage individual development plans for identified individuals using the company MDP
  • Manage the succesful implementation and progress of all individuals placed on the MDP
  • Develop and manage succession plan for management and key positions within area of responsibility.

Performance management

  • Facilitate the bi-annual performance appraisal process to be conducted by line management
  • Analyse performance appraisal results and advise line management of trends such as, consistently poor ratings or overly high ratings, common competencies requiring development and any remedial action that may be required
  • Ensure competency development needs for managers and those identified with future management potential to perform current or future jobs are identified and required development plans implemented

Employee relations

  • Liaise with local LabourNet representative and ensure management are trained in basic Employee Relations processes
  • Attend quarterly operations Employee Forum meetings and action what may be required
  • Ensure that store Forums and CARE meetings are functioning effectively

Recruitment

  • Conduct screening and first interviews for all management positions
  • Place adverts in Newspapers for management positions

People management

  • Manage output and quality of Training Officer
  • Conduct bi-annual performance appraisal of Training Officer

Portfolio of evidence moderation

  • Conduct moderation of portfolios of evidence in preparation for submission to SETA for external moderation

Course design

  • Assist in course design as and when required

Corporate Social Investment

  • As directed by Operations Executive liaise with identified suppliers to arrange any agreed training Cashbuild could offer the supplier or facilitate such offering

Bursary students and unemployed learner

  • Meet bursary student in own ops area on a monthly basis to discuss any concerns and progress.
  • submit written report on monthly meeting to HR Executive
  • Arrange for and facilitate internship within Operations or Support Office during students vacation and submit report upon completion
  • Meet unemployed learners on a quarterly basis in own Ops area to discuss any concerns and progress
