We're seeking an exceptional Principal Product Management leader to drive Amazon's next phase of growth and innovation in South Africa.This role balances visionary leadership with data-driven execution - we're seeking an individual who can define and lead strategic initiatives across diverse stakeholder groups while building and mentoring high-performing teams. Success requires big-picture thinking about customer experience, business growth, and market innovation, combined with strong tactical execution and delivery capabilities.
The right candidate has exceptional strategic thinking, the ability to build and influence across senior stakeholder groups, outstanding communication skills, and can seamlessly transition between setting long-term vision and diving deep into execution details. You'll be at the forefront of defining transformative products and strategies that will revolutionize how millions of customers shop on Amazon.
Key job responsibilities
In this role, you will:
- Drive strategic vision and execution for key business initiatives that deliver exceptional customer experiences while accelerating growth and profitability
- Lead and mentor product managers, fostering a culture of innovation, customer obsession, and data-driven decision making
- Partner with senior leadership to shape the long-term product strategy and roadmap for Amazon South Africa
- Identify and capitalize on breakthrough opportunities that can significantly scale our business
- Build and nurture strong relationships across Technology, Operations, and Business teams to deliver complex, cross-functional initiatives
- Author compelling narratives that influence product direction and gain stakeholder alignment
- Drive operational excellence through sophisticated performance analysis and continuous improvement

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS
- 12+ years of product or program management, product marketing, business development or technology experience
- 6+ years of team management experience
- Bachelor's degree
- Experience owning/driving roadmap strategy and definition
- Experience with end to end product delivery
- Experience with feature delivery and tradeoffs of a product
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
- Experience engaging and influencing senior executives
