Position Overview
The Sales Team Leader is responsible for coaching, guiding, and supporting new sales agents within the telesales environment. This role ensures that new employees receive the necessary training, tools, and knowledge to successfully sell authorized financial services products. The Team leader will manage daily operations, monitor performance, and implement strategies to drive sales success while fostering a high-performance team culture.
Specific Role Responsibilities
Sales & Performance Management
- Manage lead availability, uploading, and transferring
- Monitor and track sales performance through daily dashboards and reports for management
- Ensure learners meet and exceed sales targets while maintaining compliance
- Conduct daily sales meetings to align objectives and address challenges
- Identify and address duplicate/risky sales and resolve related queries with agents
Coaching & Development
- Conduct regular one-on-one assessments and meetings with learners
- Provide structured coaching by listening to calls and offering actionable feedback
- Assist with onboarding and training of new agents, ensuring compliance with FAIS and financial services regulations
- Sign off on completed learning modules to validate training progression
- Implement performance management initiatives to develop sales skills and knowledge
- Adapt training methods based on individual and team needs
Operational & Administrative Duties
- Maintain leave forms and attendance registers for learners
- Ensure all necessary administrative processes related to the team’s performance and compliance are completed
- Work closely with management to refine sales strategies and optimize lead generation
Motivation & Engagement
- Foster a high-energy and positive work environment that encourages productivity
- Develop team engagement initiatives, including incentives and recognition programs
Qualifications and Experience
- Matric / Grade 12
- Relevant credits as per FSB
- RE & FAIS (added advantage)
- Minimum 2 years of supervisory experience in a sales environment
- Proven track record in managing and coaching a sales team
- Experience in the Insurance / Motor Industry (Preferred)
- Experience with CRM systems is advantageous
