About the Role
The successful applicant will be able to gain valuable experience in a wide range of finance functions within the company, which includes, but are not limited to assisting the Finance team in the following functions:
Responsibilities
- Taking a proactive approach to the handling of finance aspects of the group (consisting of multiple local and foreign entities) to ensure accurate reporting to the directors and shareholders
- Assist in preparation of monthly, quarterly and annual consolidation reports for the Group, for review and approval by senior finance
- Assist management with account reconciliations and reporting to necessary parties
- Implement changes in reporting requirements and group accounting policies
- Assistance with the management and execution of the annual budget process, preparation of the detailed budget calculations and summaries for the group
- Ensure compliance with accounting and tax policies as well as internal control framework by managing internal processes and procedures
- Documenting the standard operating processes and procedures pertaining to finance
- Assist auditors with information requests and queries during the year-end audit
- Handle sensitive information in a confidential manner
- Support senior finance in ad hoc reporting, projects, and expansion plan
Qualifications
- Relevant tertiary qualification in Finance (B.Com Accounting/Financial Management) with completed articles in SAICA/SAIPA/SAIBA/CIMA, or at least two years of work experience in a finance position

Preferred Skills
- Strong knowledge of MS Office programs, particularly Excel (Advance Excel)
- Full professional proficiency in Afrikaans and English (speaking and writing)
- Experience with accounting software – Xero, Sage Evolution and Draftworx would be advantageous
