Aircraft Cabin Cleaner

We are seeking a diligent and detail-oriented Aircraft Cabin Cleaner to join our Ground Operations team in Johannesburg. This vital role ensures that all aircraft cabins are cleaned and prepared to the highest standards of hygiene and presentation before passenger boarding. The successful candidate will work in a fast-paced, high-security airport environment and be responsible for maintaining a clean, safe, and welcoming atmosphere for passengers and flight crews.
Key Responsibilities:
Clean and sanitize aircraft interiors including seats, tray tables, overhead bins, lavatories, galleys, and floors.
Replenish onboard supplies such as seat pockets, headrest covers, safety cards, tissues, and soap.
Remove trash and waste from cabins, and dispose of it in accordance with health and safety regulations.
Conduct visual inspections of cabin areas to ensure cleanliness standards are consistently met.
Coordinate with supervisors and team leads to prioritize aircraft cleaning schedules.
Handle cleaning chemicals and equipment responsibly, adhering to safety procedures at all times.
Report any damage or irregularities found within the aircraft cabin to the appropriate personnel.
Follow all airport and airline security procedures rigorously.
Required Skills and Qualifications:
Minimum Grade 10 or equivalent qualification.
Strong attention to detail and commitment to cleanliness.
Ability to follow detailed instructions and procedures.
Basic understanding of hygiene and safety practices.
Capable of working independently and as part of a team.
Must be able to communicate clearly in English (spoken and written).
Physically fit to perform repetitive tasks, lift and move equipment, and stand for long periods.
Experience:
Previous experience in a cleaning role, preferably in aviation, hospitality, or industrial environments, is advantageous.
Experience working in high-security environments or with strict compliance standards is a plus.
Working Hours:
Shift-based schedule including early mornings, late nights, weekends, and public holidays.
Flexibility is required to accommodate changing flight schedules and operational needs.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
Knowledge of cleaning protocols and safety regulations within the aviation or transport industry.
Ability to work under pressure while maintaining quality standards.
Time management and organizational skills.
Strong work ethic with a positive and professional attitude.
Adaptability to work in varying weather conditions on the airside.
