The following opportunity exists in SANSA to be filled by an individual with the relevant skills, drive, competencies and qualifications.

Reporting to the Chief Engineer, the Group Assistant provides proactive and efficient administrative support to optimise workflow for the Space Operations team.

Key performance areas will include, but are not limited to:

  • General administration
  • Event planning and implementation
  • National and international travel arrangements
  • Expense claims
  • Procurement of goods and services

The ideal candidate must have the following qualifications and experience:

  • A three-year diploma/degree in administration or similar qualification
  • Secretarial certificate would be advantageous
  • A minimum of 2 years’ experience in administrative support (procurement, general administration, national and international travel arrangements, event planning, expense claims, etc.) at the team, senior and executive level
  • The assistant should be a reliable self-starter and proactive, with high level of integrity and a sense of urgency
  • The incumbent must have excellent planning, organisational and interpersonal skills with a high degree of accuracy and attention to detail
  • Must be available for emergencies after hours whenever travellers need assistance
  • Must have excellent written and verbal communication skills with demonstrated ability to communicate at all levels
  • Advanced computer literacy on Microsoft Project, Word, Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint
  • Knowledge of SAGE would be useful
  • A valid driver’s license
