About the role:
Zutari is seeking a Project Manager who will be responsible for the project management of dams and hydropower projects in our industry-leading Water team in Tshwane.
The successful incumbent will work closely with Dam and Hydropower Engineers in developing and enforcing a high standard of project management across a portfolio of projects whilst managing select projects themselves.

About the role:
Zutari is seeking a Project Manager who will be responsible for the project management of dams and hydropower projects in our industry-leading Water team in Tshwane.
The successful incumbent will work closely with Dam and Hydropower Engineers in developing and enforcing a high standard of project management across a portfolio of projects whilst managing select projects themselves.
Role Responsibilities:
- Manage the full project lifecycle for engineering consultancy assignments, including planning, execution, monitoring, and close-out.
- Coordinate internal teams and external stakeholders to ensure timely and quality delivery of project milestones.
- Develop project scopes, budgets, schedules, and resource plans in collaboration with technical leads.
- Serve as the primary point of contact for clients, ensuring clear communication and alignment of expectations.
- Monitor project performance using KPIs and implement corrective actions as needed.
- Ensure compliance with contractual obligations, regulatory requirements, and Zutari quality standards.
- Prepare and present project reports, proposals, and progress updates to clients and senior management.
- Support business development efforts by contributing to proposals, bids, and client presentations.
- Mentor junior project staff and contribute to continuous improvement of project management practices.
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering (Civil, Mechanical, Electromechanical, etc.), Project Management or a related field.
- Project Management professional registration would be preferable.
- Minimum of 5 years’ experience in engineering project management, preferably within a consultancy environment servicing both private and public clients.
- Proven track record of delivering complex, multidisciplinary projects on time and within budget.
- Strong knowledge of project management methodologies (e.g., PMBOK, PRINCE2).
- Proficiency in project management tools (e.g., MS Project, Primavera, or similar).
- Contractual experience related to construction projects (e.g., GCC, FIDIC, etc) preferable.
- Excellent communication, leadership, and stakeholder management skills.
