About the role:

We are looking for a Professionally Registered Civil Engineer with extensive bulk water conveyance (bulk water pipelines, pump stations, reservoirs, and associated infrastructure) experience in a consulting engineering environment to join our industry-leading Water team as a Technical Director in either Cape Town or Tshwane.

Role Responsibilities

Based on your diverse professional experience and technical knowledge your responsibilities will a combination of the following across various geographies:

• Fulfilling a leadership role in the bulk water conveyance management team and the broader water market within Zutari, you will take responsibility for winning work, growing client relationships and managing resources towards achieving the Water Market goals as well as the overall Zutari strategy.
• Leading a range of projects across southern Africa, Africa and the Middle East, will display strong commercial acumen and will be comfortable managing multi-disciplinary project teams.
• Have wide ranging technical experience related to the design and implementation of bulk water conveyance infrastructure.
• Display excellent Project Management skills ensuring delivery of high-quality deliverables in an efficient manner.
• Establish and enforce technical standards, best practices, and quality assurance protocols and ensure compliance with industry regulations, safety standards, and sustainability goals.
• Be a team player that is willing to collaborate across multiple disciplines and across multiple geographies in Africa and internationally
• Ensure that all work complies with Zutari’s quality control procedures and ensuring that required quality standards are maintained.
  
  
  

Minimum Requirements

• BEng/BSc/BTech or equivalent in Civil Engineering.
• A post-graduate qualification will be advantageous.
• Registered as a Professional Engineer or Professional Engineering Technologist with ECSA
• A minimum of 15 years’ post-graduate experience on civil engineering projects, with an emphasis on bulk conveyance. Experience should entail working on projects across their full lifecycle, i.e., planning through to the end of construction.
• Comprehensive project management, quality assurance and project governance experience.
• Effective planning and time management skills.
• Ability to lead, mentor and manage people and have strong inter-personal and networking skills.
• Excellent communication skills (verbal and written).
• Ability to work under pressure and consistently deliver work of outstanding quality.
