Position Summary
  • To assist the Compliance Department in the performance & execution of the compliance and Privacy Plans.
  • To assist the Company secretary function in the performance of duties & execution of the Governance Plan.
  • To provide assistance to the contract department including vetting & drafting of contracts.
Role and Responsibilities
  • Providing of legal advice and legal support to the Business Units
  • Vetting and drafting of contracts
  • Compliance, risk, litigation, contract and legal management
  • Both Legal and non-legal administrative work
  • Providing advice on governance, privacy and compliance matters;
Skills and Qualifications
  • Company secretarial duties (management of company meetings);
  • Maintenance of company documents and records;
  • Dealing with KYC requests from partners;
  • Dealing with FICA KYC questionnaires for customers;
  • Assistance with compiling and presenting Compliance training, systems and policies;
  • Reviewing marketing creatives in compliance with relevant marketing laws and codes of conduct.
  • Developing and overseeing control systems to prevent or deal with violations of legal guidelines and internal policies and developing risk identification and management strategies;
  • Providing advice and support to the Company Secretarial function on corporate structures such as board, board committees and sub-committees;
  • Must be able to travel to locally and to African countries when required.
  • Conduct internal research and prepare legal opinions to business.
  • Prepare weekly and monthly reports to management.
  • Keep up to date with legislative landscape applicable to Samsung and update business in a timely manner
