When you join us, you will have
You will be based in Johannesburg, South Africa, as part of our E&C global team. E&C is a globally integrated team within the second line of defense of our firm, an independent function, reporting directly into the Global Managing Partner and the Risk Audit & Governance Committee (RAGC).
You will report to the Senior Director, E&C, Transformation and Strategy and work closely with the Director of Compliance, Anti-Corruption.
Regional Leadership
You will serve as the E&C lead for Eastern Europe, the Middle East, and Africa (EEMEA), translating the E&C global program into region-specific initiatives and ensuring client service compliance. You will act as a connector between the region and the global E&C Function, ensuring seamless delivery of expertise, policies, and services. You will build trust-based relationships with regional leaders (e.g., Legal, Risk, office leaders, and the regional partnership) to address compliance challenges and needs. You will collaborate with cross-functional teams and other regional E&C leads to enhance the global support model and share best practices. You will oversee regional compliance reporting, highlighting key risks, metrics, and remediation plans. You will lead initiatives to promote the firm’s integrity agenda and raise awareness of compliance priorities across the region. You will mentor and support the growth of high-impact team members through coaching, recruitment, and performance reviews.
Anti-Corruption
You will lead the implementation of the firm’s Anti-Corruption program in South Africa and the broader EEMEA region, ensuring alignment with global policies and compliance with local regulations. You will design and implement controls, processes, and procedures to strengthen the Anti-Corruption program. You will educate stakeholders on the Anti-Corruption program and tailor controls for key functions such as Finance, Human Resources, Procurement, and Travel. You will serve as a subject matter expert on Anti-Corruption, advising regional colleagues in collaboration with Legal and Compliance leadership. You will monitor regulatory changes and identify emerging Anti-Corruption risks to the firm. You will drive awareness, training, and monitoring efforts to embed Anti-Corruption practices across the region. You will sustain and enhance the Anti-Corruption program, reinforcing the firm’s commitment to integrity in South Africa and the broader region.

Your Qualifications and Skills
- 10+ years of professional experience in ethics, compliance, risk, legal, and/or governance in a large, multinational organization preferred
- Bachelor's degree required, advanced degree(s) and/or applicable professional certifications (e.g., Juris Doctor or CPA) preferred
- 5+ years of experience in driving regulatory compliance programs with specific knowledge and expertise on anti-corruption requirements and programs required
- Distinctive defensive writing skills and capability required
- Outstanding written and oral communication skills in English, with the ability to adapt messaging for different audiences and craft cohesive storylines and communications
- Ability to leverage highly credible expertise and influence others by providing a clear perspective on multifaceted issues
- Effectively operationalizes complex priorities across stakeholders to drive impact; develops and communicates a compelling vision and inspires action
- Builds trust-based relationships with senior leaders within and outside of the team; collaborates generously with others and is sought after as a key thought partner
- Strong entrepreneurial drive and ownership mentality to progress on ambiguous problems and see them through to resolution
