Purpose of Role
A key focus of this role will be organizing, updating, and restoring digital resources on the Funda Wande website. This internship is well-suited for a recent graduate who is passionate about education, digital media, and strategic communication, and who is eager to gain hands-on experience in a dynamic and mission-driven environment.
Objectives of Role
Website Content Management
- Assist with a full audit of the current resources on the website CMS.
- Tag all resources with appropriate attributes (language, grade, term, and type).
- Replace outdated content with updated versions in collaboration with the Content Team.
- Rename video files according to agreed naming protocols.
- Upload and properly organize missing content files.
Archiving & Data Organisation
- Archive historical news items and announcements into structured SharePoint folders.
- Maintain naming conventions and metadata accuracy across platforms.
Project & Communication Support
- Participate in project milestone check-ins and CMS training sessions.
- Track and update progress using internal platforms such as Monday.com and Slack.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including the content, IT, and video production teams.
Documentation, Administration and Handover
- Contribute to the development of a final project report and documentation for handover.
- Assist with daily administration duties
Experience and Qualifications
- Alignment with the Funda Wande’s Vision, Mission & Values.
- Have a minimum qualification of matric or Bachelor’s degree in communications, Media Studies, Digital Marketing, or a related field.
- Must be a South African citizen.
- Are between 18 and 34 years of age.
- Have never held a full-time position before and preferably have not participated on a learnership or internship before.
- Live within 50 kms from our offices/site, which is situated at Black River Park, 2 Fir Street, Observatory.
- Are not currently in full time studies and able to attend this internship full time.
- Are willing to be subjected to a credit and criminal check or any industry specific checks required for your job role.
- Preference will be given to candidates from designated groups and people with disabilities in accordance with the organisation employment equity plan.
