Description

The Data Services Associate plays a key role in supporting high-quality survey data delivery. This position is critical to ensuring accurate, clean, and reliable datasets for Rep Data’s client-facing teams. Your role will report to the Data Scientist and you will support several Project Managers in their survey and data-related needs. You will be a vital part of helping us grow data services operations to meet the needs of our clients and will be relied upon for your attention to detail and responsiveness in cleaning data for Rep Data project managers.

LOCATION AND SHIFT
This is a full-time, remote position open to candidates who reside in South Africa and are authorized to work there.
  • The role follows U.S. business hours. During the training period, the expected schedule is 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Central Time (3:00 p.m. to 12:00 a.m. South Africa Time).
  • After training, the employee may coordinate with their manager to choose a schedule that starts between 12:00 p.m. and 5:00 p.m. SAT and ends between 9:00 p.m. and 2:00 a.m. SAT. The average workday is approximately 8 hours.

What you will do:

In this role you will:
  • Execute data validation, cleaning, and processing tasks using advanced formulas with a high level of accuracy and attention to detail
  • Review and assess survey responses for clarity, consistency, and relevance across a variety of question types (e.g., awareness, favorability, recommendation)
  • Write and run scripts to test survey programming logic and generate data tables for analysis
  • Analyze data trends and identify quality issues using Excel and other statistical tools to support quality assurance
  • Build, restructure, and merge large and complex datasets to prepare deliverables for internal teams and clients
  • Recommend and implement process improvements to increase efficiency, accuracy, and scalability of data workflows

What you bring:

  • 1+ years of experience working with large datasets and spreadsheet-based analysis, ideally in a research, analytics, or operations setting
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English, with the ability to understand and interpret professional terminology across industries
  • Required Business Technology Skills:
    • Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Excel and/or Google Sheets, including knowledge of advanced formulas, various lookups, and pivot tables
    • Familiarity with Generative AI platforms for assistance in problem solving
    • Connecting a variety of data sources into a coherent presentation
  • Bonus Industry Specific Skills:
    • Maintaining documentation for version controls of survey instruments
    • Question types and use cases
    • Survey scripting skills preferred (Qualtrics, Decipher, Sawtooth, etc.)
    • Basic programming skills (e.g. Bash/Command line, Python, JavaScript, HTML, or CSS)
