Are You Someone Who Can
- Identify, assess, and mitigate Human Capital and People (including Payroll) related compliance risk across the Segment.
- Provide guidance and support on all labour legislation, frameworks, policies, and tools.
- Review and enhance business processes involving talent recruitment, onboarding, contingent workers & contractors, payroll & benefits, overtime, BBBEE, skills development, basic conditions of employment, employment equity, OHS and staff data.
- Identify gaps in staff data processes and recommend enhancements.
- Develop and maintain labour legislation related metrics and report to various committees across the Segment, including a focused Regulatory Universe and associated Risk Management Plans.
- Monitor systems and processes for potential compliance and mitigate risks.
- Implement and monitor labour processes and capabilities.
- Stay updated with industry standards and collaborate with stakeholders to align practices with legislation.
- Provide awareness training and establish learning opportunities for other compliance and business role players.
- Support the FirstRand Human Capital and CTE (payroll) team.
- Review and roll out Human Capital frameworks, policies, and standards and ensure implementation across the Segment.
- Advise on control requirements in respect of labour laws.
- Conduct investigations into breaches and provide input for implementation of corrective actions to prevent recurrences.
- Oversee and manage labour law compliance for business units across the Segment, ensuring alignment with overall organisational policies and standards.
- Balance labour related requirements with business strategy and other business needs, ensuring that business objectives are met without compromising labour legislation.
- Collaborate with business units to ensure People risk is integrated into business decision-making.
- Provide support and input into developing corrective action plans to address regulatory findings and/or assurance findings relating to the Human Capital staff practice area.
- Bachelor’s degree in a business-related discipline, Legal, Compliance, or Auditing.
- Possess certifications such as CPrac (advantageous).
- Postgraduate Diploma in Compliance, Risk Management, or a related field (advantageous).
- 3 to 5 years of experience in Risk Management, Compliance, Regulatory, Monitoring/Audit, or similar environment.
- At least 3 to 5 years of experience in a financial institution.
- Specific experience in dealing with Labour legislation (advantageous).
- Strong understanding of labour laws and regulations.
- Ability to drive the implementation of Human Capital / staff programs.
