We are recruiting for a Patch and Vulnerability Specialist.
Duties and Responsibilities:- Analyse and assess the patch management requirements.
- Develop the actions required to close the identified gaps and create a sustainable patch
- and update management solution for future use.
- Embed the patch and vulnerability management processes within the company by aligning
- the processes to good practice.
- Evaluate and configure the current monitoring tools such as Intune, incorporating Microsoft existing tools to provide the company with consolidated effective monitoring system that will proactively monitor, control, identify software distribution, operating system deployment, network access protection, hardware and software assets, patch management and vulnerabilities.
- Configure the Intune to implement mobile device management (MDM) and mobile application management (MAM).
- Evaluate the current company Exchange and other Microsoft Office application security policies and advise enhancements to reduce vulnerabilities in the environment.
- The proposed resource must possess the following skills to be able to execute the roles and responsibilities successfully:
- Working knowledge and experience of patch management processes (i.e. deploying patches specifically Microsoft patch and updated deployments on user endpoints).
- Ensuring that end user device patching is planned, tested thoroughly and deployed with minimum service disruption while meeting company IT and cyber security standards.
- Understanding of how to address configuration vulnerabilities and how to address weak configurations in the Microsoft related systems and applications.
- In-depth understanding of the Microsoft SCCM and how to utilise the SCCM solution to ensure a healthy patched Microsoft environment (company is currently utilizing SCCM to deploy patches). The ability to configure/ re-configure the SCCM to provide the company with the ability to properly (remotely) control, manage patches, software distribution, operating system deployment, network access protection and manage its hardware and software assets as follows:
- Creation of application packages and deployments in SCCM.
- Deployment of application packages to endpoints.
- Administering and specialising in SCCM configuration manager capabilities to ensure network patch management, distribution and compliance functions are achieved.
- Troubleshoot and resolve SCCM client health issues that prevent patches from automatically installing.
- Diagnose and resolve the SCCM deployment issues of application packages and when necessary, engage with the support team to ensure complete and accurate delivery.
- Generating management reports on patch compliance and SCCM client health by device type.
Requirements:
- Bachelor’s Degree or Diploma in IT or certification in any field relating to the scope of work.
- Minimum of five (5) years’ experience working as a systems, networking or infrastructure engineer in relevant fields OR experience with Windows Server with at least three (3) years of experience with Linux environment and at least three (3) years in managing a team.
- Minimum of five (5) years’ experience and working knowledge of patch management processes and deploying patches, specifically Microsoft patch and updated deployments on user endpoints. Furthermore, the resource must have an understating of the use of Microsoft System Center Configuration Manager (SCCM) to ensure a healthy patch Microsoft environment including Intune.
