Location: Stellenbosch, Western Cape, South Africa

Reports to: Technical Support Manager (Mechatronic Engineer)

What You’ll Do:

Engineering Hardware:

• Develop thorough technical insight into the architecture and functioning of our multi-faceted hardware products
• Troubleshoot and resolve hardware malfunctions, ensuring optimal instrument performance and system reliability.

Software Support & Development:

• Troubleshoot and resolve software issues to maintain smooth system operations.
• Design, test, and document new features that enhance product value and performance.
• Improve and update existing software to boost reliability, functionality, and efficiency.
• Identify and implement innovative solutions that drive product performance and system optimization.

Manufacturing Support:

• Collaborate with the manufacturing team to conduct quality checks on freshly built products.
• Assist with the sourcing and integration of new components.

Client Support:

• Collaborate with clients and support them with effective solutions
• Own client issues and work with the team for seamless resolutions

What We’re Looking For:

• B. Eng. in Electronic/Electrical or Mechatronic Engineering.
• 0-3 Years of work experience.
• Familiarity with Linux OS.
• Experience with C, Pascal, or similar in Embedded Software Development.

Optional but Awesome:

• Master’s degree in engineering.
• Previous experience with mineral processing plants.
• Familiarity with version control (e.g. Git)
• Experience with Modbus, Profibus or other Machine-to-Machine Communication protocols.
• Experience with Networking and network communication infrastructure.
• Familiarity with Moxa devices or similar IIoT (Industrial Internet of Things) hardware.
• Knowledge of real-time operating systems (RTOS).
• Exposure to Python.
• Padel skills for those lunch-time games.
