Howden South Africa Division is looking for an experienced EHS Officer to ensure that the customer sites where Howden staff perform maintenance and installations, comply with SHE standards (internal, client standards & statutory compliance).

Howden South Africa Division is looking for an experienced EHS Officer to ensure that the customer sites where Howden staff perform maintenance and installations, comply with SHE standards (internal, client standards & statutory compliance).
What Will You Do?
- Accountable for HSE on the various Maintenance and GO sites to ensure Howden complies legally and with its internal procedures.
- Responsible for the safety administration and doing job observations and recording of safety requests/complaints/ near misses and investigating all incidents.
- Accountable for the rollout of all safety requirements to sites and giving feedback about rollout to ensure we comply with our internal safety requirements.
- Conduct audits on subcontractors before allowing them onto site, as to determine the level of compliance and suggest corrective action and implantation of action to ensure we comply with our and customer requirements.
- Assessing of risk on sites and writing of risk assessments and written safe work procedures to enable work to be done.
- SOX Compliance: Adhere to Sarbanes Oxley and AX controls.
- SAMTRAC or higher qualification.
- SACPMP Registered as a safety officer.
- 5 years of experience as an EHS Officer
- Incident and accident investigation course
- HIRA course
- Basic SHE audit course
- Extensive SHE exposure in industrial / manufacturing environment
- Must be computer literate.
- Added advantage - Ergonomics training, ISO 90001 Safety and quality certified, ISO 14000 environmental certified
- ISO 45000 certified.
