Role Purpose:
Responsible to drive sales staff, strategies, plans and schedules to achieve agreed targets in line with country objectives. Constantly assess and act on local market opportunities and coordinate / manage the local sales team effectively in order to grow revenue within the assigned territories. Also responsible to engage, motivate and lead the local sales team as per DHL values and standards.
Key Responsibilities:
- Responsible to drive local sales team to grow the Shipments Per Day (SPD) figures according to local / country objectives.
- Responsible to strategically plan and execute best practice (in terms of sales) in order to continuously grow revenue with the respective territory.
- Collaborate with Sales, Finance and Operations teams to maximise sales and revenue growth within territory.
- Responsible to continuously drive, guide and coach local sales team on the achievement of their individual KPIs.
- Responsible to monitor the KPIs of local sales team on a monthly basis and take remedial action should there be continuous shortfalls on the achievement of KPIs.
- Responsible to identify and initiate change in KPI priorities from time to time as per local business objectives.
- Responsible to conduct x2 coaching sessions per team member every month.
- Responsible to assist and partake in local talent management initiatives in order to develop local sales team.
- Responsible to continuously guide and counsel staff in order to maintain high levels of employee engagement and motivation.
- Assist with planning, organising and facilitation of formal training programmes (i.e. CIS Sales).
- Responsible to train and coach staff on the local Annual Sales Priorities
- Responsible to manage and drive local sales team to achieve the local Annual Sales Priorities objectives.
- Responsible to handle escalated queries and customer complaints in a courteous and timely manner.
- Responsible to draft and provide ad-hoc business plans, reports and information sheets as and when required by management or customers.
- Matric / Grade 12 / Equivalent.
- Any relevant sales qualification / certificates.
- Minimum of 6 to 8 years’ experience in field sales.
- Minimum of 3 years management experience.
- Valid driver’s license.
- Previous courier experience advantageous.
